Arali Garcia

Arali is a first-generation Mexican American with ambitions to pursue higher education. Currently a freshman at Northeast Lakeview College (NLC) studying political science and international relations, she aspires to serve as a Senator in the United States Congress.

Arali strives to have a voice and contribute active input in new policies that will ultimately go on to create equity and equality. The daughter of immigrants, her main passion is social change for minorities in American society.

As a method of following her passion and investing in her educational and personal growth, Arali ran for and was elected as Senator of Campus Operations at NLC. In this role, she learned not only how to represent others, but also how government – even student government – can positively impact all.

She takes pride in being involved with her peers and her environment, and it has been through these interpersonal connections that she has come to understand that compassion and empathy are the paths to acceptance and change.

Arali’s life mission is to empower others with self-acceptance and love.
